Who is eligible? This is a hobby club (NOT an instructive course) for TG students in grades 6-10.
When is it? Location: The Training Ground
Monthly, beginning in October, for both semesters on First Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 PM as follows:

Who teaches it? Mrs. Tina Holmsten
Mrs. Holmsten is a long-time TG parent who has taught science labs, Park Games, and writing classes over the last several years.
About the course: This is a writing club, designed to support and encourage students who are interested in creative writing, by giving them an outlet to share what they create and to appreciate the creations of other aspiring writers like them. This is a non-academic club. There will be no instruction and no grades. A creative writing assignment will be given for each month’s meeting, which will be an open-ended creative writing prompt for students to work on and complete before the next meeting.
**Each meeting will be structured as follows:
- Free writing time (5 minutes)
- Commissioned Work sharing (30 minutes)
students read their completed assignments to the group – feedback encouraged
- Brief writing/word game (10 minutes)
- Non-Commissioned Work sharing (10 minutes)
students may bring other writing projects they’ve written in the past month to share with the group
- Assignment for next week explained (5 minutes)

What does it include? Guided sharing/discussion and activities & assignments.
