Who teaches it?   tutor

About the course:   This is essentially an arrangement for group (or semi-private) tutoring so that students can review homework assignments, ask questions, learn new grammar concepts, and understand pronunciation of new vocabulary. They also have the chance to dialogue with one another in Spanish.

It takes two years to cover the entire Spanish II curriculum. That means that Spanish II-A (one half the text) is a one year program, and we will enlist a tutor for Spanish II-B in 2011-2012.

Spanish II-A is a continuation of language study for all students who have completed the Spanish I Bob Jones curriculum or another comparable program. Spanish II-A in fall 2010 will cover the first quarter of the Spanish II book, and Spanish II-A in spring 2011 will cover the second quarter of the text.

Students will review concepts from Spanish I, expound upon vocabulary already learned, reinforce grammatical concepts from Spanish I and learn new verb forms enabling them to read a greater variety of short stories.

Students will practice their Spanish with scenarios such as sports, a concert, the bank, a hotel, and the airport. By the end of this course, students will have a firm grasp on all concepts learned in Spanish I, be able to communicate with a wide variety of vocabulary, write short papers and read and understand short stories.
