Who teaches it? Mrs. Becky Mancini
Mrs. Mancini serves as director of The Training Ground and also teaches a variety of classes to the teens each year. Her particular interests include: Bible, Logic & Critical Thinking, Social Studies, Literature & Shakespeare, Writing, and Geometry.
Each year she leads a Teen Bible Study program, once started by her son Chet in 2006 and assisted annually in recent years by her son Nathan. The themes have included: The Attributes of God, Christian Worldview, approaches to Personal Bible Study and Memorization, the Book of Mark, Old Testament Survey, and now the Book of Romans.
Mrs. Mancini herself took a 90 hour (one semester) high school course on Romans that was life-grounding and wants to pass on this vital letter to some of her favorite people–the TG teens, of course!
About the course: The Book of Romans is chock full of key doctrines of the faith and their connection to Christian behavior, heart, and lifestyle. Paul is bold, profound, focused, empathetic, and encouraging in this serious letter to disciples-in-training in a culture hostile to Christianity.
The course will examine the “Romans Road” verses that outline the true gospel (based on Christ’s righteousness, not our own) and then the principles of how that gospel empowers believers to walk in imitation of Christ.
All classes will meet in the Training Ground Main Meeting Room, and special snacks will be provided each week.
Students will read the chapters ahead of time to be prepared for the discussion.
