Family Genealogy & Its Historical Connection — New!

Who is eligible?   Boys and Girls in Grades 8-12

When is it?   Meets upstairs in TG studio.

Thursdays, weekly, 3:00-4:00 PM, for six weeks as follows:

Who teaches it?   Mrs. Rindi Crissey

Mrs. Crissey has taught book clubs at the TG for five years and is eager to share another interest of hers — family genealogy. Many TG students know Mrs. Crissey from her enthusiastic participation and assistance in our club programs, including many service projects, socials, and field trips. She is a fellow TG parent and home educator of two sons.

About the course:   Students will explore their family tree and the historical events that did or could have influenced their ancestors’ lives. The hobby of genealogy will also be discussed with the possibility of a fieldtrip(s).

1st class – introduction

2nd class – parents

3rd class – grandparents

4th class – great grandparents

5th class — great great grandparents

6th class – great great great grandparents

Students will have weekly assignments and small informal class presentations.

How much does it cost?   $10

What does it include?   Instruction, handouts.

What do I need to bring?   Attendance at and participation in all of the six classes; completion of weekly assignments.

Students also need to bring a 3 ring binder for handouts.
