TG Book Club- American Authors — New!

Who is eligible?   Boys & girls in grades 6-8.

When is it?   Full year course to meet monthly at the TG on Second Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00 PM as follows:

Who teaches it?   Mrs. Rindi Crissey

Mrs. Crissey has taught successful book clubs for five years at the TG, each year varying the themes and genres. She is a fellow TG parent and home educator, schooling her sons through high school while supporting the many programs of The Training Ground with her assistance, ideas, and enthusiasm, including literature clubs, GEVA field trips, fall socials, and many service projects.

About the course:   Theme: American Authors

Students are to read (or re-read) the book in advance of the meeting date and be prepared to discuss the material together and do related activities. Sometimes discussion materials are assigned in advance, and there might be small writing assignments periodically for homework that will enhance the group time.

What does it include?   Guided discussion, activities, assignments.

What do I need to bring?   Please obtain the books–either by purchase or library– and read them in advance of each meeting date.

(Books are NOT provided).

Students should commit to the reading, the assignments, and participation in group discussion for the full benefit of the course and fellow book club members.
