Spanish I-B, Spring ‘10
Who is eligible? For students in approximately grades 8-12 who have completed at least half of a high school Spanish I program—especially those students who took Spanish I-A at the TG last year.
When is it? Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30 PM, on at least 12 of the following 15 dates in 2010:

Who teaches it? Mrs. Emily Little
Mrs. Little graduated from Gordon College in MA with degrees in both Spanish and Business. She worked for Gordon Conwell Seminary specializing in youth curriculum for summer programs. Mrs. Little moved to Rochester in 2004 and has taught almost six years of Spanish at The Training Ground, including both levels I and II.
About the course: This course builds on grammatical concepts, vocabulary, and cultural customs learned in Spanish I-A and Fall 09’s semester of I-B. The goal of the course is to familiarize students with the Spanish language to the extent that they can carry on a basic conversation, 2) read and write the language at a very basic level, 3) be prepared for the next level, and 4) understand some Hispanic customs and cultures.
The required textbook is Bob Jones Univ Press Spanish I.
The course is a year-long; we ask for a year’s commitment but separate payments by semester.
Usually the last class day of each semester is a class party with games in Spanish and some refreshments. Contributions of refreshments are appreciated for these parties.
How much does it cost? $105 per semester
What does it include? All tests, quizzes, review sheets, as well as additional handouts for enrichment.
What do I need to bring? BJU Spanish I textbook. (Optional items: the corresponding BJU Spanish I workbook, listening comprehension CDs, and Teacher’s Guide —so that parents can stay on top of student work during the week).
