TG Chorus – Spring ‘10

Who is eligible?   All grade levels, boys and girls. All levels of experience. All parts — soprano to bass. The more the merrier, especially so we can meet the minimum # for Chorus.

When is it?   Tuesdays, 1:15-2:30 PM, on the following dates in 2010:

Jan 12, 19, 26

Feb 9, 16, 23

Mar 9, 16, 23

Apr 6, 20, 27

May 11, 18, and Recital on May 19 at 7:00 PM*

* Recital is tentatively scheduled for Pittsford Community Church on Marsh Road.

Who teaches it?   Mrs. Misty Irwin (with Mrs. Judy Monro)

Mrs. Irwin is a TG member parent who has extensive training in voice and performance, including a vocal performance college degree and three years of co-leading the Brighton High School musicals. She has taught TG Chorus for 2 years, and the students put on outstanding recitals!

A class where students are able to learn correct breathing and singing techniques which will allow them to siing better with a group or just in the shower at home! We will have a great time —hard work, but a lot of fun with an instructor who has over 20 years experience with kids from kindergarten through college age.

How much does it cost?   $58

What does it include?   Professional instruction (including how to sing properly); sheet music, introduction to various styles of choral music.

What do I need to bring?   Prompt drop off and pick up! Drop off within 10 minutes prior to start of class, and pick up within 10 minutes after end of class.

3-ring black binder for your sheet music.

Performance Dress: Mrs. Irwin typically prefers students to wear the following to recitals; specific questions should be directed to her.

Girls – white blouse (long-sleeved); black skirt; stockings (flesh-colored); black shoes.

Boys – white button-down dress shirt; black dress pants; black socks; black shoes; (tie color discussed prior to event).

PARENTS- Your help may be requested for some recital opportunities (set up, take down, refreshment table service, etc.)

Special thanks to Sharon Fritz, Sherry Sabo, Leesa Coutant for making their help available as far as facility reservations and course assistance.

Parents, other than our parent/lobby assistant, please do not hang out in the lobby with your other children. We do not have permission from PCC to use the lobby for such activities. We have only reserved the main sanctuary.

Students must follow all PCC rules, as well as TG policies. For example, no food or drink (other than water bottles) in the sanctuary. Do not use the piano or sound booth.
