Courses
All courses are subject to change! (dates, fees, cancellation, etc…)
- Outstanding account balances must be paid prior to registration unless you receive permission to do otherwise.
- Only members are eligible to register for classes unless it is specified that extra slots are open to non-member homeschooled teens. Members will be notified by email Updates as to when courses are posted for preview and when course registration will begin. Generally, fall registration begins sometime in early August, and spring registration begins sometime in early December. Do NOT register early or your registration will not be processed.
- Registration for courses is to be done online. Please remember to include an email address or else you might not receive course confirmation. Also include your grade level so that your registration will be processed as quickly as possible.
- Registrations are accepted until course is full or deadline is reached, whichever comes first. Please do not assume you are registered for a course until you receive email confirmation that you have a spot.
- Assume classes meet in main meeting room of TG unless otherwise described in course details.
- Courses may be canceled if there is no volunteer to serve as parent assistant/receptionist OR if we do not reach the minimum number of students needed.
Most courses hold separate registration for each semester. Some require a year’s payment up front. However, the following YEAR-LONG courses require a year commitment but separate registration and payment in EACH of two semesters:
- Spanish courses
Some courses note a one-time fee for the entire year along with the expectation of a year’s commitment. These include some monthly book clubs, monthly writing club, and in 2010/11, the Apologia Physical Science Lab co-op.
Regarding Course Payments:
Families are welcome to combine multiple class fees for multiple children in one check payable to The Training Ground when registering for classes. You do NOT need to write separate checks! The money you send is credited to your family’s TG account, and the course fees for any of your children are deducted from that account. Periodically, we send account statements via email or email attachment to each member’s family.
